I intended on doing this sooner, but here is a flyer for the St. Louis KIP Day event.

We are on like Donkey Kong
Oh, I’m so sorry to have used the dumb Donkey Kong rhyme. Sometimes I just can’t help myself though.
We are officially meeting at the St. Louis Zoo. As of now, there is no official meetup spot. That could change though. Since it is the zoo though, my thought is that everyone might scatter around, see the animals and just have a good time. Looking over the map, there are several places that come to mind that would make either a good meetup, or just general place to gather. The area around History Hill is grassy and nicely shaded. Lakeside Cafe would also be a great spot. The patio there is covered and you could sit and watch the ducks and stitch. And if you prefer to stroll, there are park benches and snack bars with seating throughout the whole zoo, so the options are limitless.
I personally will probably be knitting on the train, at the sea lion feeding, at the Lakeside Cafe, the Children’s Zoo and anywhere else that my family drags me too.
So, what will you need for the day? Your family, friends, yarn, needles or hooks, camera, blankets, lawnchairs… whatever you need to have a great day. You will also need some $$ for parking, or better yet, get a zoo membership. If you order it online, you can just present your card to park that day. And either pack a lunch or plan to eat at the zoo. Members get a 10% discount on all food purchases. Sorry to sound like an advertisement, but I think it’s really important to support our local Zoo. It is one of the only free zoos left in the country.
More info on an after-zoo meetup soon. There’s talk of the Boathouse or the Shakespeare Festival. I’m thinking maybe just letting everyone choose which they prefer, they both sound like fun.
WWKIP Day is June 13th, 2009
Tentativley, the St. Louis WWKIP Day event is going to take place at the Saint Louis Zoo from 11am-5pm. I will update this site as I have more information. The Zoo closes at 5pm, so I would like to arrange something for after that also.
